Long time, no post, eh?

It's been a great couple of months with this blog. I've learned a lot of things and have had a lot of fun discovering new subscriptions and opening up packages each month. But to tell you the truth, I don't have the money to continue with most of them. It's great fun, but I have enough skin care and cosmetics to easily last me the next year (or two!). Same with clothing. The value of these subscription boxes has been amazing, and I've gotten plenty of things at remarkable prices.

But would I have bought them in the first place? In many cases, no. And it's come to a point in my life where I truly need to get my life in gear, and begin to budget. Frankly, subscription boxes are a non-necessity. And so for now, I have decided to do the following:

-Beauty Box 5: My last box should be July's, as I've cancelled my quarterly subscription. With their latest shipping change -- $3 extra for Canadians -- I don't think I'm going to miss it.
-Ipsy: As a sub that has a mix of drug store and middle-high end products that I can generally afford, plus bags which I can easily repurpose for all sorts of organization, for a decent price, I will keep this for the time being.
-Loot Crate: last month's Loot Crate wasn't great (theme: Transformers; since gifted, no blog post), and July's was better (blog post to come). Next month may be promising. Since this is a monthly gift to my boyfriend, we will both take a loot at the theme spoiler for August and decide from there.
-Golden Tote: as neither I nor my boyfriend will be seeing each other for a few months, it is unlikely that I will get any more Totes until the end of the year (as it's much more cost effective to ship to the States)
-Whimseybox: I have a 6 month subscription with Whimseybox that has already been paid off. I will think about the status of this subscription in November.
-Elizabeth and Clarke: As I've only received one E&C box, I'd like to try this one more time for the Fall Collection. If it disappoints, I will be cancelling my subscription to them.
-Saffron Rouge Inner Circle: once one of my favourite subscription boxes, it has fallen by the wayside and I've not been happy with it recently. Since it is a pricier sub that is also monthly, rather than quarterly, I'm afraid I will drop this for now. I do genuinely believe it is a good subscription service, but it is simply not what I'm looking for at this moment.
-Memebox: I will continue to shop at Memebox, though my spending has drastically been reducing due to the current situation I am in as well as extra shipping charges. No problem, because I have a handful of boxes I've barely even opened yet, much less photographed and begun to review!

And what of this blog? Well, I have plenty of older Memeboxes that I've yet to review, some from months ago. I hesitated to review them, but I think that I will. Not only does Memebox tend to bring back older boxes for a limited time, but many of the products they sell separate in their store are from their boxes, and I believe it could be beneficial to review these items. I will strive to review my current monthly subscriptions within the month, though I will be working much more than usual for the time being.

Thank you so much for sticking with me. I really do appreciate it. Hopefully these rainy days will pass and I can add some new subs to my list soon.
